I loved this story! This one was sweet in a way that there wasn't really an evil person trying to sabottage their relationship. The parents were just trying to do their best and the Duke was a Casanova, but I think that when he saw that the king was interested in her, he felt he had to make his move. But I don't think the duke really loved her. Great story!

Jen, we love your interpretation! We don’t always need a major villain to create conflict in a story, do we? Sometimes the characters’ own choices and the feelings they struggle to express are enough. And the duke really did seem more interested in winning something that was slipping away from him than in showing genuine love for her. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us!
